A former leader of the Thieves Guild, Galem Darkhand was in charge of many thieves and lead the attack on the Ice Caves. Despite being the leader, two individuals wanted him dead: his lover Masila and one of the thieves, Kanrik. Their assassination attempt on his life failed and ended up with Galem gaining a short alliance with the Bringer of the Night, who also betrayed Galem in the end. Galem fought Kanrik in the Ice Caves and was defeated and presumably killed.
