Kelland, the Thief, is one of the protectors of Altador. While one does not think of a thief to be a conventional leader, King Altador chose Kelland to be a council member after hearing of his acts of giving back to the poor. It was Kelland who suggested that King Altador invite the Darkest Faerie to join the council.
In the Darkest Faerie game, Kelland was disguised as a beggar named Kell that Tor saved from bandits in Meridell. As thanks, he gave Tor a magical amulet that ended up protecting the Lupe from the influence of the Darkest Faerie.
In the Darkest Faerie game, his statue had the inscription, "This is the law: be no one's fool. Respect no claim or code. Steal excesses from the rich, to give to peasants in need. Under their city, you make your home, a dry fountain as your doorstep."
