This Shoyru seems to be employed by Illusen to keep her glade safe from harm. He is perhaps the reason why Illusen was never captured during either of the two Meridell wars. Illusen taught him to appreciate the beauty around him, and in return he stayed to protect her.
Nobody crosses this bridge unless Lady Illusen says so.
