Casey reached the end of the Trial of Brush and Brawn in the Ruins of Elderus in Year 3.
It appears Casey was a member of the Neovian Neighbourhood Watch: Ranger Division, who patrolled the trails in the Haunted Woods to keep hikers safe. He is implied to have fallen foul of the Mysterious Aisha Sorceress.

No sign of anyone around, so I'm guessing that report was indeed just a dumb prank call. I told ya there was no real rush for me to get over here, but I'll try not to rub it in too much back at the station. I've gotta walk this trail anyway, though, so luckily not a huge waste of time.
