Oswalde joined an expedition to find the mythical Ruins of Elderus west of the Haunted Woods. During the expedition, he began acting strangely and was sent to Brightvale's Court of Knowledge for judgement. He later returned and completed the Trial of Brush and Brawn by himself.
Oswalde describes himself as a child of 'verse', and previously of Brightvale, rather than of any Neopet.
While many aspects of Oswalde's story may imply he is the same character as Ozzy, the Grey Painter, TNT have stated that they are different characters.
