Bertrand was a warlock who wrote 'Navigating the Void', a book about creating portals to other worlds. He discovered the Void through one such portal, and using forbidden magic began to experiment on it. In the process, he became corrupted by the Void.
Bertrand was eventually tracked down by the Shadow Faerie Squadron, but he disappeared into a portal leading to the Void when he was cornered.
Bertrand is described as having green eyes, a gaunt face with high cheek bones, and being both unusually lean and tall for a Hissi. He has a jagged scar above each of his eyes.
It is implied through his writings in 'Navigating the Void' that Bertrand has familiarity with the totem that can summon Kastraliss
